DESCRIPTION: A real baby Paua shell dangles on a delicate chain necklace. Uniquely New Zealand, Paua (also known as abalone) are considered taonga (treasure) to Maori and the rest of New Zealanders. Unlike other Paua shell jewellery, we intentionally chose sun-bleached shells with subtle lustre. Sustainably and ethically harvested from a Northland Paua Farm.
PROVENANCE STORY: Paua are considered taonga (treasure) to Maori and to the rest of New Zealanders. Both for its stunning beauty and its gastronomic taste. It has a thin finely sculptured shell. Paua shell eyes feature prominently on Maori carvings in almost any Marae or meeting house. Outsourced from a sustainable Northland Paua Farm.
SHELL SIZE: Paua shells length will vary from 15mm – 20mm long.
